In plain language

How We Invest

Attend builds portfolios around a low-cost, diversified core of index and institutional funds, allocated to your goals and time horizon. We do not trade individual stocks or try to time the market. Taxes are managed at the account level: tax-efficient holdings sit in taxable accounts, less efficient ones in retirement accounts, and losses are harvested through the year rather than only in December. Rebalancing runs on rules, not headlines.

Client accounts are held in your own name at Charles Schwab. Attend does not take custody of client assets, and you can see every holding and transaction at Schwab whenever you like.

How We Charge

  • Investment management: a tiered percentage of the assets Attend manages, billed in arrears
  • Financial planning on its own: a flat annual fee set before work begins
  • No commissions on investment products
  • If you choose to implement an insurance policy through Attend, the carrier pays a commission, disclosed in writing before anything is placed
  • Full fee schedule in our Form ADV and disclosures

Common Questions About Investment Management

How does Attend invest client money?

Portfolios are built around a low-cost, diversified core of index and institutional funds, allocated to your goals and time horizon, then managed for taxes through asset location, rebalancing on rules, and tax-loss harvesting. We do not trade individual stocks or chase market timing.

Where are client accounts held?

In your own name at Charles Schwab. Attend does not take custody of client assets, and you can log in at Schwab at any time to see every holding and transaction.

What does investment management cost?

A tiered percentage of the assets Attend manages, billed in arrears. There are no commissions on investment products, and the tiers are published in our Form ADV.

Do I have to move all my accounts to Attend?

No. We start with the plan. Accounts that are better left where they are, such as a workplace 401(k), stay put and are still factored into the overall allocation.

How often is my portfolio reviewed?

Rebalancing runs on rules rather than a calendar, and every client gets a scheduled review with an advisor. Tax-loss harvesting is checked through the year, not just in December.

Can Attend manage a concentrated stock position or equity compensation?

Yes. We build a plan to diversify concentrated positions tax-efficiently, coordinate RSU and option decisions with your tax picture, and can use direct indexing where it fits.
